The fundraising effort, targeting $25,000, will cover the cost of the bronze plaque and its installation, the construction of the base, and the continuation of scholarships awarded in the winners’ names. It is a call to action for all who knew Tommy and Stan, all who played alongside them, all who witnessed their generosity and dedication: to invest in a legacy that teaches future Falcons the value of teamwork, friendship, and enduring commitment.
This is a monument, yes, but also a story—a story that speaks of youthful beginnings, decades of enduring camaraderie, and the simple, profound truth that the impact of great teammates echoes far beyond the field. Tommy Moody and Stan Treski are immortalized here, not only in bronze but in the hearts and memories of those who knew them, and in the players who follow in their footsteps.

In 2024, former classmates and teammates of the Class of 1969 established the Moody–Treski Teammate of the Year Award, an honor given annually to a senior player who best mirrors the dedication, leadership, and selflessness that defined Tommy and Stan. Chosen by the votes of their teammates, the recipient embodies the ideal of what it means to be a Falcon: committed, encouraging, and steadfast both on and off the field. A $1,000 donation has been made in the name of each winner to the AC Flora Scholarship Foundation, with hopes to increase this in the coming years.
The creation of the bronze plaque, permanently affixed to a concrete and brick foundation at the ballpark entrance, is more than a tribute. It is a celebration of friendship, of sportsmanship, and of the legacy left by two men who were more than teammates—they were brothers in spirit. The sculpture captures not only their likenesses but their essence: men who led by example, who inspired by action, and who nurtured a culture of loyalty that transcended the game.
The Moody-Treski Foundation, LLC is planning to build a monument honoring Tommy Moody and Stan Treski, legendary teammates whose friendship began on the youth baseball fields of Columbia, South Carolina. It’s a permanent tribute stationed at the entrance of the A.C. Flora High School baseball field, a monument to camaraderie, to loyalty, and to the kind of selfless play and commitment that Tommy and Stan exemplified.
The story of their friendship starts long before high school, in the Palmetto Baseball League, Hand-Crayton Pony League, and Columbia Colt League. Those early years shaped two boys who would spend four unforgettable seasons as Falcons, side by side, learning not only to play the game but to be the kind of teammates who lift everyone around them. Six decades later, that same bond continued, cemented by countless acts of kindness and an unwavering willingness to extend a helping hand.
